We had a delicious breakfast at Waffle House. Six months ago I would have ordered cheese grits, a double order of hash browns, scattered, double covered and double chunked, a waffle AND a Coke. Well, maybe 2 Cokes. Today I ordered grits and an omlet and ate about half of each. Portion control has been one of the biggest things I have learned. Water, water. water. I drink it ALL DAY LONG. It took me a while but now my body craves it. It has to be ice cold and I MUST have a straw.
After dropping the kids at school, Bret and I looked around at our local sporting goods store and went home for a quick nap. Working late tonight allowed me to catch one of my favorite classes at the gym, which happens to only be offered when I am usually working. 3G (Guns, Glutes and Guts!) Blast is a high intensity interval workout that leaves me super sweaty and super sore the next day. If you're local, you should try Tracy's 3G Blast at the McDonough Gold's (Mondays @ 8:30 am/Wednesdays @ 12:30 pm).
(me after a sweaty "Club Spin" on Tuesday)
I was able to get a quick, peaceful Starbucks trip in all to myself on my lunch break Wednesday evening.
I am frequently asked if I allow myself to "splurge" or "cheat". The answer? ABSOLUTELY. Starbucks happens to be my weakness. Other areas I try to find better alternatives to my cravings (like protein pancakes!) and again, have portion control. I believe if you don't give into cravings now and then, you're setting yourself up for failure.
I ended my night with FaceTime with these goofs. Surely glad I don't have to work that late every night anymore.

Thats awesome! glad you got a "nap" and had a productive day. My day just isnt the same unless ive sweated! keep it up friend!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chick! I got off at 11:45 pm last night and came back at 7:30 this morning, a nap saved my life!
