Getting Started

First off, you guys are incredible.  I could never thank you enough for reading, sharing and liking my first post.  The amount of views is blowing my mind!  I won't lie, today started by running around like a chicken with my head cut off.  Running late, forgot my meal prepped steak and sweet potato on the counter, didn't get my shower and to put the cherry on top my rubber band broke in my hair on the way to work.  Awesome.  Days like today are the ones that I struggle with getting to the gym, days it'd be easiest to grab a cheeseburger to replace my forgotten lunch.

I have to take myself back to six months ago.  September 2013:

I cried getting dressed everyday.  Hardly anything I owned fit, and what did, I felt terrible in.  I want to make sure and clarify here that the SIZE I was here wasn't of importance. I could have been a size 2, 16 or 25, but I was MISERABLE.  I had spent the majority of my adult life at 147 pounds. Before baby number 1, 147 pounds. Six weeks after she was born I was back down to that weight.  Repeat for baby number 2. Flash forward to having a 4 and 2 yearold and it's like my body stopped working.  It was screaming at me to make a change.  I gained 41 pounds in a year's time and the scale kept climbing.

I look back on these pictures and do not recoginze the girl in in the first few.  I am so thankful I found this path.  Because of the girl in these pictures, I'll make my way to the gym this afternoon.  I'll push through my workout and MAKE tomorrow better, because the girl below? I like her much better.

  1. Love! Went on a very active vacation where I didn't do my regular strength workouts because I was doing so much cardio every day... and had to restart strength yesterday. Reading your blog motivated me to get back to it and I couldn't believe how much my body LOVED getting back to strength workouts. :) My upper body is sore in the most satisfying way!
